Introduction
Skavinski Capital LLC ("Skavinski", "we", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you use our website (skavinski.com), educational platform (academy.skavinski.com), and related services, including our options analytics dashboard, educational academy, blog, referral program, and Discord community integrations (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. This Policy also explains your rights and choices regarding your personal information.
Please also review our Terms of Service, which govern your use of our Service. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy or the Terms, please do not use the Service.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you provide to us directly, as well as information collected automatically when you interact with our Service.
- Information You Provide: Account registration information (such as your name and email address, collected via our authentication provider), payment information (processed by our payment processor; we do not store credit card numbers or payment credentials), referral program participation (referral codes, referrer-referee relationships), and any communications you send us (such as support requests or feedback).
- Information Collected Automatically: When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages accessed, and timestamps. We also collect application preferences and settings synced across devices (see Cross-Device Settings Sync), browser error reports (URL, user agent, and error details) to maintain service reliability, and reading behavior analytics on our blog (scroll depth, time on page, referrer, collected without cookies). This data is generally aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
- Educational Progress Data: If you use Skavinski Academy, we collect quiz responses, assessment scores, learning progress, spaced repetition schedules, and certification status to personalize your learning experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect for purposes that include:
- Providing and Operating the Service: To present our website and its contents to you, and to provide the features and services you request.
- Communication: To communicate with you about updates, newsletters, marketing materials, or respond to inquiries and support requests. For example, if you provide your email to receive updates, we will use it to send you relevant information. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.
- Improvement and Personalization: To analyze usage and performance of our Service in order to improve our content, features, and user experience. This helps us understand what is useful to our users and to customize the Service to user preferences.
- Legal and Security: To maintain the security of our Service, prevent fraud, monitor for violations of our Terms, and comply with applicable laws or legal obligations. We may use personal information to investigate and address any illegal activities or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Cross-Device Sync: To synchronize your application preferences, layout configurations, and notification settings across your devices when you are signed in.
- Educational Services: To track your learning progress, adapt content difficulty, issue certifications, and improve our educational materials.
- Referral Program: To track referral relationships, apply subscription discounts, and administer the referral program.
- AI-Powered Features: Certain features (such as the Academy AI Tutor) may process your inputs using artificial intelligence to generate personalized responses. These inputs are processed in real time and are not stored for training purposes.
We do not use personal information for any purposes incompatible with those listed above without your consent.
Cross-Device Settings Sync
When you are signed in, we offer an optional cross-device synchronization service ("SkvSync") that stores your application preferences on our servers so they are available across your devices. The data synced includes:
- Dashboard Preferences: Widget layout, chart overlay settings, alert configurations, and onboarding completion status.
- TeploMap Preferences: Favorite tickers, display modes, color schemes, notification read status, and view configurations.
- Academy Progress: Quiz state, spaced repetition schedules, learning analytics, certification records, and feature preferences.
This data is stored in a database keyed to your authenticated user ID. It does not include financial data, trading activity, or personally identifiable information beyond what is inherent in your preferences (such as ticker symbols you have favorited). You may request deletion of your synced preferences at any time by contacting [email protected].
Third-Party Services
We use the following categories of third-party service providers to operate our Service:
- Authentication: We use Clerk for user authentication and account management. Clerk processes your email address and authentication credentials. Clerk's privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
- Payment Processing: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Skavinski does not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
- Content Delivery: We load certain open-source libraries from third-party content delivery networks (CDNs), including unpkg.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net. These CDNs may receive your IP address and browser information when resources are loaded.
- Discord Integration: If you connect your Skavinski account to our Discord community, we sync your subscription status with Discord to manage role-based access. This links your Skavinski user identity with your Discord user identity for role assignment purposes only.
- Hosting and Infrastructure: Our services are hosted on cloud infrastructure and proxied through Cloudflare for security and performance. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata.
We do not share your personal information with these providers beyond what is necessary for them to perform their functions. We do not permit our service providers to use your personal information for their own marketing purposes.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include technical, administrative, and physical security steps designed to safeguard your data. For example, we use encryption and secure protocols for data transfers where appropriate, and we limit access to personal information to those employees and service providers who need it to perform their duties.
However, please note that no website or method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You share and transmit data to us at your own risk. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately contact us using the information in the Contact Us section.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, as outlined in this Privacy Policy, and for legitimate business or legal purposes. This might include retaining information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or as otherwise required by law.
Once personal information is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law, we will delete, anonymize, or aggregate it. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include the duration of our relationship with you, the nature of the data, and our legal obligations. If you request deletion of your data, we will also take reasonable steps to honor that request in accordance with applicable laws.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13 years of age (or other relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you are under 13, please do not use our Service or provide any information about yourself. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that a child under your care has provided personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected]. We will work to remove that information from our records.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) (collectively referred to here as the "CCPA"). These rights include:
- Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell. This includes the categories of personal information, the categories of sources from which the information was collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling the information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information.
- Right to Access & Data Portability: You may request a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
- Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, if the information is needed to complete a transaction you requested, to detect security incidents, for legal compliance, etc.).
- Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you, taking into account the nature of the information and the purposes of processing it.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: The CCPA gives you the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information to third parties. As noted above, Skavinski does not sell personal information. If in the future we plan to sell personal information, we will update this Policy and provide a clear method for you to exercise your opt-out rights. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes without consent.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: If we collect any sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation, social security number, financial account information, etc.), California residents have the right to limit our use or disclosure of such sensitive information to that which is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected, or for certain limited business purposes. (At this time, we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CCPA, beyond possibly contact information you provide.)
- Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of quality of service because you exercised your rights under CCPA. However, please note that in some cases, if you request deletion of your data, certain services that rely on that data may no longer be available to you.
Exercising Your California Rights: To exercise any of the rights described above, you or your authorized agent may submit a request to us by emailing [email protected]. Please specify which right you intend to exercise and provide sufficient information that allows us to verify you (for example, by providing additional information or responding to follow-up questions). We may need to verify your identity and residency before processing certain requests. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf by providing proof of authorization and verifying their own identity.
We will acknowledge and respond to verifiable requests under CCPA within the timeframe required by law (generally within 45 days, with the possibility of a 45-day extension in certain circumstances). If we cannot fulfill your request, we will provide an explanation subject to legal restrictions.
Additionally, California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code Section 1798.83) permits users of our Service who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your consent.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Your personal data is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection standards than your country of residence. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other lawful transfer mechanisms to ensure adequate protection of your data.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
